Planning meeting FAQs

Starting your NDIS journey:

Receiving your first plan

Your NDIS plan shows what you want to achieve in your life and what money is available to pay for supports to help with this. It's important that you understand what is in your plan, how you can manage the funding and how to find providers.

How to manage your plan and funding

There are three ways to manage the NDIS funding and there are benefits to each of them:

Plan managed

A Plan manager, like Provider Choice, will take care of paperwork, pay your providers, and organise invoices. With a plan manager, you can work with smaller providers not registered with the NDIS. With us, you'll get easy to use tools like a dashboard that you can view your funding on, as well as access to our team to help you through your NDIS journey. Every NDIS plan includes a budget to cover plan management costs - no extra charges for you.

Self-managed

Self-management puts you in control of your plan and its funds, offering the most flexibility among the three options. While it comes with more workload and responsibility, you can access both registered and unregistered providers and adjust payments beyond NDIS price limits, broadening your support choices.

NDIA managed

This option puts the NDIA in charge of your funding. However, unlike plan management, you can only access providers that are registered with the NDIS. This might limit your options for support and NDIA management also doesn't come with the added tools that many plan managers offer.

You can also split your funding so that it is managed in two separate ways. For example you may want to self-manage part of your plan and have the rest managed by a plan manager.

For more information and help, you can call our team or read through the NDIS guide for ways to manage your funding.
