Planning meeting FAQs

Starting your NDIS journey:

Planning Conversation preparation

If you are accepted into the NDIS, you will then meet with NDIS staff to make a plan. This is called a planning conversation.

Making sure that the right information is brought up in this meeting is important to make sure you get the funding that you need. That's why we've created a free online planning tool that you can complete and take into your meeting.

Here are some other ways to get ready for the conversation:

  • Consider what's going well and what's challenging in your life
  • What things you would like to do if you had support
  • Identify the people involved in your life
  • Think about what your goals are

You can also fill out Booklet 2 - Planning before the meeting. It can help to talk to others, including your family, to help you think about your life. You can also bring these people into your planning conversation.

The planning conversation can take place over the phone or in person. You should bring any professional reports or information about your needs. After the meeting, the NDIA will review your information and you'll receive your NDIS plan.
